I was elected as MP for the South Cotswolds on 4th July 2024, five years after making Gloucestershire my home. I love this part of the world – its beautiful countryside, its characterful towns and villages, and above all the people who make our communities what they are.
My goal is to help the South Cotswolds flourish. Ours is a large and wonderfully varied constituency, and it can sometimes feel as though our communities are quite separate from one another. But everywhere I go, I meet people with ideas, energy and a real desire to make things better. I believe we achieve far more when we bring people together, share what works, and give communities more power to shape their own future. That’s the idea behind my Stronger South Cotswolds initiative, which brings people and organisations together to turn good ideas into local action.
Long before I became an MP, protecting our natural world was a huge part of my life. I have campaigned on environmental issues for more than 20 years, including during the years I spent rowing alone across the world’s oceans to inspire action for a more sustainable future.
Those years at sea taught me just how interconnected our world is – and how much difference each of us can make. As your MP, I am determined to be a strong voice for climate and nature, both here in the South Cotswolds and in Parliament, and to protect the places we love for generations to come.
